A big high is rolling on in for the week ahead with most places seeing more sun, less wind, higher daytime temperatures but possibly cooler nights. This weekend a storm may form in the tropics which could also impact New Zealand next week, although confidence of this storm’s tracking remains low at this early stage.
But the main thrust of today’s video is about when the winds will ease, where the sun will shine (most places, bar a few cloudy periods in coastal areas) and how long the high will last for.

No doubt this forecasted storm will occur just in time for Easter weekend with it just east of northland tracking slowly southeastwards meaning southerlies or south westerlies for much of the country.
