Another southerly snap is coming with snow forecast to low levels around the South Island as Sunday goes on, then into the North Island later Sunday and into Monday. For the North Island snow is likely to be above 300 or 400m but will be accompanied by a very cold and strong southerly.

MetService has no warning or gales signs at all on its Paraparaumu page. Now that is actually so angering. Facing Cook Strait and being very southerly of any sort prone, it is likely to get a bit bad in rough old Paekakariki. I shared your video and told people here to follow Weatherwatch for this system, as MetService has not afforded us any warning of the impending freezing cold S or potential of high wind. You have no idea how badly that sux when weather just goes boom. People here very sick of being unwarned after the big May SE damaging storms. Nice one, within one hour I got 201 hits on my posting referring Paekakariki people to your video, still growing too. Not a bad 201 out of 700 houses here within 60 minutes! Tells you a bit doesn’t it.
