Low pressure around the north of NZ means windy weather is kicking in from today through to Tuesday, in particular the top third of the North Island. If you’re camping be prepared for some windy weather with gales and possibly even severe easterly gales in the forecast.
The further down the country you go the cooler those easterlies are with below normal temperatures by day for many eastern places from Gisborne to Dunedin.
But many regions are leaning drier than average over the next week despite the showers – but the top of the North Island and north-east of the North Island (Northland to East Cape) looks to lean wetter. Check your local WeatherWatch.co.nz or RuralWeather.co.nz forecast to drill down deeper on wind speeds, direction, temperatures and potential rainfall timing and totals.
We have your NZ and big picture forecast through until Friday of next week.
