VIDEO: 10,000km high pressure belt bad news for those in drought

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A powerful block of high pressure looks set to dominate NZ’s weather not only for the rest of this week and weekend but potentially for the rest of March.

The high this Friday will extend over a distance of 10,000km and while it will shrink a little this weekend, the central air pressure will not – meaning it will remain a powerful high pressure zone for some time.

This means a few showers and easterlies for the North Island, but the general pattern is for drier than average weather nationwide.

Hi there, perhaps try a page refresh? It’s working at our end, unless others have issues too.

Could have been on my side, as I had issues playing YouTube videos in general.
