A small low this Saturday will send a burst of wind and rain across parts of the South Island before quickly clearing again at night.
It’s a small system that will pack a local punch with wind gusts over 120km/h in the Southern Alps and blustery conditions elsewhere. Rain will be heavy on the West Coast on Saturday too.
Elsewhere high pressure is dominating – especially in the very north where rainfall totals are very limited.
Despite some hints of La Niña in our weather pattern next week, the rest of November doesn’t look so much like La Niña with drier than normal weather to the north of NZ and in northern NZ itself. Also eastern areas don’t have much rain coming either.
