A large low in the Southern Ocean/south Tasman Sea will this week help pull down very humid tropical air from the north of New Zealand.
Downpours will start on the West Coast then move northwards – and push east to some degree.
Both Wednesday and Thursday see heavy downpours and likely rain warnings. On Friday conditions clear up for many areas but there is a chance rain may stall or linger over northern NZ.
