A high centred in the Tasman Sea spreads a ridge over New Zealand today bringing mainly settled conditions.
For the South Island expect mostly sunny weather, perhaps some morning cloud to start about Southland and coastal Otago. Winds are light tending onshore in the afternoon. About inland hills and ranges some cloud builds this afternoon, there may be an isolated shower or two later in the day otherwise mainly dry.
The North Island sees mostly sunny weather in the west, some cloud about Auckland northwards and along the east coast breaks to mostly sunny weather this afternoon. Winds from the east in the east and from the westerly quarter about western Waikato down through to Kapiti.
