Canterbury was the hottest province in the country today with Hanmer Springs cracking 31 degrees however a cool nor’ easter saw Christchurch with just 22 degrees on the coast.

Masterton took second spot with 29 degrees and Alexandra next with 28 degrees.

The coolest one today was Haast with 18 degrees.
