Here’s what is making the weather headlines today…..

THUNDERSTORMS AGAIN TODAY – NORTH ISLAND

Thunderstorms occurred for various parts of the North Island yesterday, especially central areas, Bay Of Plenty and stretching up into Coromandel.

Today thunderstorms occur again in much the same spots. Heavy downpours with hail are possible. Tasman and Buller in the South Island has a risk of heavy showers / thunder this afternoon too.

COOL START IN THE SOUTH, WARM THIS AFTERNOON NORTHLAND

Cold to start this morning for the South Island, especially about mountainous areas where there may be a light frost.

Warmest this afternoon for Northland with highs reaching into the late teens.

HIGH STILL DUE LATER THIS WEEK

High pressure is still looking to move in later this week, some quieter weather would be nice.
