Tuesday’s News: Heavy rain watches, Front on Wednesday, Warm on Wednesday

Here’s what is making the weather headlines today….

HEAVY RAIN WATCHES

An occluded front may bring heavy rain to Coromandel this morning then easing.

A few troughs moving in from the Tasman Sea bring the potential for heavy rain about the top of the South Island today (Tasman especially) and along the West Coast later today / overnight.

FRONT ON WEDNESDAY

A front rips in from the Tasman Sea on Wednesday bringing heavy rain to the West Coast, perhaps some thunder. Conditions ease evening from the south then overnight further heavy showers move in thanks to a trough with a chance of thunder (more so south of Greymouth).

The front mentioned above reaches the western North Island overnight although it will have weakened a little.

WARM ON WEDNESDAY

From Wednesday temperatures around New Zealand should be reasonably warm, especially in the east and north.
