Here’s what is making the weather headlines today…..

A FEW COLD MORNINGS TO COME

Temperatures over the next three mornings are not overly warm, especially the South Island on Wednesday morning.

SHOWERS MOVE INTO EASTERN REGIONS, UNSTABLE

It’s dry this morning in the east but sure enough cloud will thicken and showers move in, especially north of the Waitaki River. One or two showers may even have a little bit of instability in them.

Showers may continue to have some instability in them for parts of the upper North Island on Wednesday.

TEMPERATURES WARM UP IN THE EAST FROM THURSDAY

It will be cool today for the eastern South Island thanks to southerlies, warmer further north. Wednesday is fairly average temperature wise with the upper North Island being the warmest.

From Thursday a westerly quarter airflow returns and temperatures pop up in the east again.
