Westerlies have finally eased and the weather is not to bad today, there is wet conditions for the West Coast though and maybe a few showers for Kapiti and Taranaki further north.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with gentle westerlies.
Highs: 19 – 22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy, cloud thickens up from afternoon. Chance of a shower for Kapiti and Taranak. Breezy northwesterlies.
Highs: 14 – 17

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny, a little cloud from afternoon south of Napier. West to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18 – 23

Wellington

Mostly cloudy, chance of a spit in the north from afternoon. Gusty northwesterlies, strong through Cook Strait.
Highs: 16 – 17

Marlborough & Nelson

A mix of sun and cloud with northwesterlies, gusty about the Sounds.
Highs: 18 – 22

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with light northwesterlies, breezier inland, tending easterly in the afternoon for coastal parts.
Highs: 17 – 21

West Coast

Morning rain eases to showers then sunny areas break through, cloud thickens in the evening with rain moving in south of Greymouth. Northeasterlies, strong for coastal Fiordland from evening.
Highs: 13 – 16

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny, a touch of high cloud. A few spits of rain overnight. Breezy northwesterlies. Coastal Otago has northerlies, perhaps tending northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 16 – 19
