Showers or rain for the eastern North Island today thanks to a southerly airflow, the South Island is mainly settled thanks to high pressure.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Partly cloudy, the odd isolated shower, clearing evening. Bay Of Plenty is cloudier to start with showers a bit more frequent then breaking to some sun in the afternoon. South to southwesterly winds, afternoon sea breezes along eastern coastal areas.
Highs: 23-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy, chance of an isolated shower mainly in the afternoon. South to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-24

Eastern North Island

Showers or maybe some rain, chance of the odd isolated heavy fall with thunder in the afternoon south of Napier, easing evening, clearing overnight. Southerly winds.
Highs: 19-21

Wellington

Partly cloudy, risk of a shower. Southerly winds.
Highs: 18-22

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny, some afternoon cloud about the ranges. Light winds then afternoon sea breezes.
Highs: 20-22

Canterbury

Mostly sunny, any morning mist or fog clears away, evening cloud may move in again. Afternoon easterly winds.

West Coast

Mostly sunny, some afternoon cloud about the ranges brings the risk of an isolated shower. Light winds tend west to southwest after midday.

Mostly sunny, mist or fog possible morning and night. Light winds, northeasterlies for coastal Otago.
