A northeasterly airflow continues over the country today, drying up in the east with showers clearing away. Western regions see a few showers though.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Partly cloudy, occasional showers but long dry periods too with some sun. There may be some rain in the far north from afternoon. Winds from the east or northeast, from the north Auckland northwards.
Highs: 15 – 17
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud, a few showers catch Taranaki. Light winds.
Highs: 11 – 16
Eastern North Island
A few morning showers clear away then sunny areas breaks through. In the evening a shower or two may move back into the coastal fringe. Light northeasterlies.
Highs: 15 – 16
Wellington
A mix of sun and cloud. Light northeasterlies.
Highs: 14 – 16
Marlborough & Nelson
Dry for Marlborough with sun and some high cloud, cloud thickens in the evening. Nelson has occasional showers for much of the day, rain late afternoon or evening especially for Tasman.
Highs: 13 – 15
Canterbury
Partly cloudy, a few showers (mainly Banks Peninsula southwards) clear in the morning. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 7 – 14
West Coast
Mostly cloudy although parts of North Westland may have sunny areas, a few showers especially along the coastal fringe. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14 – 16
Southland & Otago
Chance of an early mist or fog patch then mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud. Coastal Otago is mostly cloudy with showers or drizzle but it should dry up this afternoon. Northeasterlies.
Highs: 8 – 14
