Tuesday’s national forecast – high pressure is now growing nationwide

Any remaining light showers today fade from the eastern side of NZ with high pressure now growing across most, if not all regions.

Fairly mild afternoons in some inland areas but the southerly flow means coastal areas, especially those in the south and east, will be fairly cool still today.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny with south east winds. Might be a shower around the Bay of Islands.
Highs: 18-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
A mix of sun and cloud with cool light southerlies, especially in coastal areas. A light frost possible around Waiouru/Ohakune.
Highs: 16-17

Eastern North Island
Quite cloudy, especially near the coast where there might be a shower – otherwise dry. Cool southerlies.
Highs: 14-17

Wellington
Mostly dry but may be a bit cloudy, especially in Wellington itself. Cool Southerlies.
High: 12-14

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny, light winds.
Highs: 17-18 

Canterbury
Mostly sunny, some morning cloud. Light winds drifting from the south.
Highs: 13-15

West Coast
Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 17-19

 

Southland & Otago
Quite Sunny after a cool start. Calm / Light variable winds.
Highs: 13-17
