Hi, I know it’s early days but is  TC Ian that formed the other day in the Pacific likely to be a future threat to Northern NZ seeing as Tonga appears to be included in warnings in the region?

Thanks

Hi there – at this stage that tropical storm should track south east or southerly – and not really come closer to NZ.  In fact it’s a fairly small sized storm at this stage too. Every year NZ runs the risk of being hit by a cyclone but at the moment we have low risks around our specific waters.  Will update via our news stories if we think something is coming though!

Cheers
Phil
