An anticyclone covers New Zealand today with its centre just east of the North Island, mostly sunny weather is expected for both islands although there will be plenty of cloud north of Auckland and in Fiordland.

Upper North Island

Northeasterly breezes perhaps a little brisk at times. Cloudy periods with some sun from time to time, mainly in the afternoon.
HIGHS: 24-26, high 20’s for some inland areas.

Lower North Island

Mostly sunny with some cloud, north to northeast breezes. Sea breezes in western areas.
HIGHS: 26-28

Upper South Island

Mostly sunny weather today with light north to northeast breezes.
HIGHS: 19-21 on the West Coast 23-26 elsewhere. Perhaps high 20’s in the Amuri area.

Lower South Island

Mostly sunny weather with northeasterlies on the east coast, light winds elsewhere. Cloudy about Fiordland with northerly breezes.
HIGHS: 19-23, high 20’s for inland areas
