A cold front moves over the North Island today, gradually weakening. A southwest airflow eases for the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Patchy rain or drizzle for Waikato and perhaps moving into Bay Of Plenty at times. Northland and Auckland stays mainly dry with partly cloudy skies. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any early showers clear then cloud breaks to sunny spells, westerly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Eastern North Island

High cloud, perhaps a few spots of rain this morning. Cloud thickens this afternoon as northwesterlies tend easterly, patchy rain / drizzle from late afternoon.
Highs: 18-22

Wellington

Partly cloudy, northwesterly winds tend northeast late afternoon. Cloud thickens this evening.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

High cloud then mid level cloud starts to thicken up about Marlborough in the afternoon as light winds tend southeasterly. Nelson has high cloud also but areas of sun breaking through at times, there may be some lower level cloud for a time in the evening. Southwesterly winds tend northeast in the afternoon for Nelson.
Highs: 17-20

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to some sun, cloud thickens again this afternoon with the odd light shower or drizzle patches possible. Easterlies pick up after midday then ease evening.
Highs: 14-17

West Coast

Morning cloud brings a few showers then breaking to sunny spells, southwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Southland & Otago
May be a morning shower or two for Southland, sunny spells otherwise. Coastal Otago sees cloud thicken this evening bringing the chance of a shower. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-17
