A northeasterly airflow increases over New Zealand with a front in the Tasman Sea moving into the West Coast of the South Island and Northland later this evening / overnight.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy. A shower or two for Coromandel up through to Northland, especially in the east. Risk of a shower about western Bay Of Plenty and Waikato from afternoon. Rain moves into eastern Northland overnight. Breezy northeasterly winds, brisk at times especially about eastern Northland / Auckland.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny areas and some high cloud, mid level cloud thickens up about Taranaki from evening then expect overnight showers. Northeasterly winds, breezy about Taranaki.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas and increasing high cloud, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington

Sunny areas and some high cloud, northerly winds.
High: 14

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas and some high cloud, mid level cloud thickens up about Nelson from afternoon. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury

Morning mid level cloud breaks to some sun and high cloud, a frosty start for inland areas and especially about the Mackenzie Country. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-13

West Coast

Sunny areas and increasing cloud, patchy rain develops in the evening. Freshening northeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago
High cloud, some sun at times. Light north to northeasterly winds. Breezy northeasterlies for coastal Otago with slightly cloudier skies.
Highs: 11-13
