A southwesterly airflow eases over New Zealand today as a ridge pushes in from the Tasman Sea.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud with a few showers as a southwest change moves through then becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Northland doesn’t see showers till afternoon then clearing in the evening.
Highs: 17-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Any early cloud clears then sunny with light winds.
Highs: 16-18

Eastern North Island

Sunny with morning high cloud clearing away, light winds tend to the south in the morning.
Highs: 18-22

Wellington

Sunny, light winds.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny, light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 17-20

Canterbury

Sunny, light winds tend east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 16-19

West Coast

Morning rain or showers then sunny areas increase from afternoon, southwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Southland & Otago
Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny, west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-17
