A westerly airflow lies over the country today, cloud and a few showers in the west, sunnier conditions out east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas, may be a shower at times especially later in the day. Southwesterly winds. The Bay Of Plenty is mainly dry, some afternoon sun breaks through.
Highs: 14-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with the risk of shower at times, west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 9-14

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny, may be some high cloud about. Light northwesterlies.
Highs: 14-15

Wellington
Morning cloud then mostly sunny, northwesterly winds.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson
A mainly sunny day with light west to northwesterly winds for Marlborough, southwesterly breezes for Nelson.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury
Sunny with light winds, tending northeast near the coast.
Highs: 10-12

West Coast
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, rain moves into Fiordland in the evening. West to southwesterly winds die out later in the day.
Highs: 9-10

Southland & Otago
Mostly cloudy about Southland with the odd shower, breezy westerlies ease late afternoon. Central Otago is mostly sunny with some high cloud, light northwesterlies. Coastal Otago sees some morning cloud then increasing sunny spells, breezy westerlies gradually ease.
Highs: 9-10
