Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas but expect some brighter spells with high cloud at times, there may be some morning low cloud or fog for inland areas. Light north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 22-26

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy, risk of a shower, more likely from afternoon. Northwesterly winds.
Highs: 20-24

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, late evening spots of rain possible especially about Wairarapa. Light winds.
Highs: 24-27

Wellington
A fairly cloudy day, chance of a spit otherwise mainly dry. From evening the risk of showers increases.
High: 19-20

Marlborough & Nelson
Morning cloud then mostly sunny, Nelson could see a morning shower or two then drying up. North to northwesterly winds pick up from afternoon.
Highs: 22-26

Canterbury
Morning high cloud then some afternoon sun, perhaps some morning rain south of Banks Peninsula then drying up around midday. Light variable winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 24-26

West Coast
Morning rain then patchy showers, northeasterly winds.
Highs: 19-23

Southland & Otago
Morning high cloud clears then mostly sunny, risk of a brief shower or two late afternoon / evening for inland areas otherwise mainly dry. Light winds.
Highs: 23-25
