A weakening front crosses the North Island today, northwesterlies lie over the South Island however a southerly flick moves up through Otago and Canterbury during the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud with the risk of a shower, sunny areas increase this afternoon. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 27-29

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud with the risk of a shower then sunny areas increase, west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 23-26

Eastern North Island
Sunny with afternoon east to northeast winds. Northwesterlies for Wairarapa.
Highs: 26-30

Wellington
Risk early shower then expect sunny spells, breezy north to northwesterly winds.
High: 23

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with afternoon north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 25-30

Canterbury
Mostly sunny, light winds tend to the south in the afternoon. Some evening cloud possible.
High: 29

West Coast
Morning showers then sunny spells develop, West to Sou’West winds from afternoon.
Highs: 20-23

Southland & Otago
Morning showers ease then clear, sunny spells increase from afternoon as light winds tend west to southwest.
Highs: 21-27
