Northwesterly breezes for the North Island today, a mix of sunny areas and some cloud. The odd shower about Taranaki and Kapiti during the day, morning showers clear in Wellington. Low risk of a shower passing through at times in other areas. Mostly sunny on the east coast with mild temperatures, some high cloud north of Hawkes Bay. About eastern Bay Of Plenty expect rain easing to showers in the afternoon then clearing in the evening.
Cloudy on the West Coast with northerlies, periods of rain north of Fiordland spread southwards in the evening in the form of drizzle. Sunny areas and some cloud about Nelson with northwesterly breezes. Mostly sunny with some high cloud from about Cheviot northwards along the east coast, light winds may tend northwest.
Any morning drizzle clears about Christchurch then expect a few sunny areas from afternoon, light winds. Remaining cloudy in Mid Canterbury southwards through to Otago with morning rain easing to the odd drizzle patch in the afternoon and dry spells, southeasterlies ease also.
Cloudy areas about Southland with southeasterlies easing, mostly dry although there may be a few brief drizzle patches at times mainly at night.
Temperatures in the early 20’s on the east coast of the North Island today, 17 to 18 elsewhere however 15 to 16 about Wellington. 15 for Christchurch on the east coast of the South Island today up to 17 in Blenheim and Nelson. 12 to 13 degrees for the West Coast, Southland and Otago.
