A westerly airflow eases over New Zealand today meanwhile a low in the Tasman Sea brews and moves a little closer to the western side of the country during the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning low cloud or fog breaks to sunny spells, there may be a shower or two during the day (mainly out west) otherwise fairly dry. Winds light from the west to northwest. Overnight some rain moves into northern Northland.
Highs: 17-19

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Cloudy areas with the odd shower, sunny spells possible too. Light west to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 14-16

Eastern North Island
Any morning low cloud or fog clears then mostly sunny with northwesterly winds, light winds may tend northeasterly in the afternoon about Hawkes Bay.
Highs: 18-20

Wellington
Morning cloud breaks to mostly sunny weather, easing north to northwesterly winds.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with light north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-19

Canterbury
A mostly sunny morning, light winds change southerly in the afternoon bringing increasing cloud. Some drizzle possible from late afternoon / evening especially inland.
High: 14-16

West Coast
A few morning showers then drying out, areas of sun gradually increasing. Southwesterlies.
Highs: 13-15

Southland & Otago
A few showers about Southland, becoming drier into the afternoon with some sun breaking through. Still, the odd shower may hang around till evening. Otago sees a mix of sun and cloud, a few evening showers. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 10-14
