Tuesday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s looking fairly changeable once again across the country today as unstable air remains above us.

Showers and thunderstorms could buffet western parts of the country and a few northern areas as well including Auckland and Wellington.

Some of the cloud build ups are looking impressive on the satellite map this morning.

Not all areas will be on the receiving end of these squally outbreaks as eastern areas will be mostly dry with just the odd spillover shower likely. Marlborough looks to be the soggiest eastern region at this point.

Temperatures are likelyto be slightly above average in the north today even with the inclement weather and although southern districts were supposed to warm up yesterday, many in the east and south didn’t notice much of a rise in temperature.

Best place seems to be out east and possibly Christchurch.

Wettest is looking anywhere exposed to the west.
