A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today bringing cooler temperatures then the likes of last week, still some regions see sun but cloud and the odd shower may affect others. For more details about your region check out today’s forecasts below.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy areas and some sun with the odd shower or two. The Bay Of Plenty is most likely to stay dry with longer sunny spells during the day. Sou’West winds becoming brisk in the afternoon.
Highs: 19-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Periods of cloud and some sun with west to southwesterly winds, brisk in the afternoon for Taranaki. The odd shower possible at times otherwise mainly dry.
Highs: 16-18

Eastern North Island

Sunny areas with southwesterly breezes, chance of a shower or two during the day mainly about the Wairarapa.
Highs: 19-21

Wellington

Any early showers clear then expect some sun, late evening a southerly change may bring a further shower.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny weather with light winds tending southwest, afternoon northeasterlies about Marlborough.
Highs: 18-19

Canterbury

Sunny areas with cloud building in the afternoon, low risk of a shower or two after midday mainly inland otherwise dry. Southwesterly winds pick up after midday.
Highs: 18-19

West Coast

Cloudy areas with the odd shower possible at times throughout the day, sunny areas may make an apparence from time to time especially about South Westland. Breezy west to southwest winds.
Highs: 15-16

Southland & Otago

Mostly cloudy with occasional showers for Southland and the Otago coast up to about Otago Peninsula, sunny areas break through after midday about Central Otago. Brisk west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-16
