A southwesterly airflow eases over the country today, showers generally clearing in the east and far north. Mostly sunny otherwise.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Chance of a morning shower for Northland then clearing to become sunny, mainly sunny elsewhere. South to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 13-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly sunny with west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-14

Eastern North Island

Any early showers clear then expect mostly sunny weather, breezy southwesterly winds ease later in the evening.
Highs: 12-13

Wellington

Mostly sunny with southerly winds .
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with south to southwesterly winds, dying out in the evening.
Highs: 12-13

Canterbury

Sunny areas increase from morning, it will likely be sunny for inland areas for most of the day. Showers and snow flurries to 400m out on Banks Peninsula don’t clear till this afternoon. Southwesterlies die away by evening.
High: 11

West Coast

Sunny with light winds after a cold start.
Highs: 11-13

Southland & Otago

A few morning showers clear then sunny areas increase, Central Otago mostly sunny from morning. Westerly winds breezy in coastal areas.
Highs: 8-10
