Tuesday’s Headlines: Mist or Fog, Sunny on the West Coast, Fieldays

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Here’s what is making the weather headlines today….

MIST OR FOG

With a few settled nights to come expect areas of fog or mist morning and night, overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning especially has a fog risk for parts of the inner North Island.

Below is a graph for Hamilton, this is prudent considering we have Field Days on this week. You can see the fog risk and the high risk overnight Wed / Thu morning. For more on fog in your location go to ruralweather.co.nz, use the search function then click on the “Fog” tab.

GREAT ALONG THE WEST COAST – SOUTH ISLAND

The West Coast of the South Island has great weather today, sunny with light winds, afternoon temperatures either 13 or 14 degrees.

Reefton may have morning fog but this breaks away to sun, fog again overnight.

Bay Of Plenty in the North Island has some great weather today too with a high of 16!

FIELDAYS – SHOWERS ON FRIDAY / SATURDAY

The short forecast is Fieldays will have good weather on Wednesday and Thursday, watch for areas of fog morning and night though with cold starts. Friday and Saturday we see occasional showers as a low draws in a northeasterly airflow.

Phil Duncan will have a more in depth look at the Fieldays forecast in today’s video later this morning. You can check out yesterday’s Fieldays forecast here.
