An anticyclone controls our weather for the most part tonight but not everywhere will see clear skies. The odd shower affects the far south of the South Island overnight.

Auckland & Northland
Clear with some cloud at times, cloud thickens up overnight. Light west to southwest winds.
Low tonight: 5-6

Bay Of Plenty
Mainly clear skies tonight with light winds.
Low tonight: 3

Central North Island & Waikato
Mainly clear skies, some cloud develops overnight. Light winds.
Lows tonight: -1-2

Eastern North Island
Mainly clear skies tonight, light winds.
Lows tonight: 2-3

Western North Island
Clear spells and some cloud, cloud thickening later on this evening. West to northwest breezes.
Lows tonight: 6-7

Wellington
Some cloud with northerly winds.
Lows tonight: 8-9

Marlborough & Nelson
Clear spells and some cloud, light winds.
Lows tonight: 1-3

Canterbury
High cloud with light winds, high cloud decreases towards dawn tomorrow.
Lows tonight: 1-3

West Coast
Cloudy skies, rain moves into Fiordland overnight. Northerlies south of Haast, light winds elsewhere.
Lows tonight: 4-5

Coastal Otago
Cloudy with a few spots of rain overnight, light winds.
Low tonight: 6

Central Otago
Cloudy skies, a few brief showers possible around mignight. Light northerly winds.
Lows tonight: 2-3

Southland
Cloudy skies with a few showers possible around midnight, north to northwest breezes.
Lows tonight: 6-7
