North to northeasterly winds strengthen over the country tonight, most places are cloudy or will become cloudy. The odd light shower about some North Island regions, rain on the South Island’s West Coast becomes heavy overnight.

Northland

Mostly cloudy with northeasterly winds, the odd light drizzle patch mainly in the east.

Auckland

Thin high cloud thickening this evening and overnight, breezy
northeasterlies.

Bay Of Plenty

Cloudy with a few light showers, northeasterly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 13-14

Waikato & Central North Island

Fairly cloudy with northeasterly winds, the odd light drizzle patch
possible.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-9

Eastern North Island

Some thin high cloud, thickening overnight. North to northeasterly winds
freshen.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

Taranaki

Cloudy with brisk northeasterlies, the odd shower about northern parts of
the district.

Tonight’s Lows: 12

Western North Island

Areas of high cloud thickening overnight, northerly winds.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Wellington

Cloudy with drizzle patches, clearing this evening. Northerlies strengthen
overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 12

Nelson

Cloudy with patchy rain or drizzle, northerly winds strengthen.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Marlborough

Mostly cloudy with northerly winds strengthening overnight, the odd shower
too.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Canterbury

Cloudy with northeasterlies strengthening. Winds strong at times overnight,
mainly about parts of North Canterbury and Banks Peninsula.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-10

West Coast

Areas of rain, becoming heavy overnight. Strengthening
northeasterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 10-12

Coastal Otago

Thick high cloud with east to northeast winds, a few spits of rain towards
dawn.

Tonight’s Low: 8

Central Otago
Cloudy
with northerly winds, rain developing overnight, mainly in the west.

Tonight’s Low: 7-8

Southland

Cloudy with northeasterly winds, a few spits of rain possible towards
dawn.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-8
