A ridge lies over the North Island tonight but skies are fairly cloudy due to jet stream cloud moving in from the north. Conditions are mainly settled. Low pressure is starting to move in over the South Island with a front hitting the far south overnight.

Auckland & Northland

Mostly cloudy with sea breezes easing this evening, light winds overnight.
Chance spot of rain at times otherwise mainly dry.

Tonight’s Lows: 15-16

Central North Island, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Fairly cloudy with westerly breezes easing overnight. Northerlies about the
Bay Of Plenty ease later this evening.

Tonight’s Lows: 12-15

Eastern North Island

Some high cloud, easterlies ease this evening. Light winds overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-16

Western North Island

Areas of cloud with westerly breezes.

Tonight’s Low: 14

Wellington

Clear spells and some high cloud moving in this evening, breezy
northerlies.

Tonightâ€™s Low: 15

Nelson

Clear with some high cloud, northerlies ease this evening then espect light
winds overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 14-15

Marlborough

Mainly clear skies with some high cloud later this evening, gusty
northwesterlies ease overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Canterbury

Mainly clear skies with light winds this evening about North Canterbury,
elsewhere expect clear skies for the most part but some low cloud may move in
this evening especially about the coast from South Canterbury up to about
Christchurch with light southerlies. Cloud then breaks up overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 13

West Coast

Fairly cloudy with light northerlies, chance of a drizzle patch otherwise
mainly dry. Rain moves into Fiordland overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 13

Coastal Otago

Clear with a few clouds about, low cloud about coastal north Otago clears
away this evening. Light winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 11-12

Central Otago

Mainly clear skies with southwesterly winds easing later this evening,
light westerlies overnight with increasing cloud.

Tonight’s Lows: 8

Southland

Clear spells and some cloud, light southerlies tend northwest this evening.
Overnight a southwest change brings showers.

Tonight’s Low: 9
