Cloudy for eastern parts of the country tonight with easterly quarter winds, clearer skies in the west. The east coast of the North Island will be the main area to see showers overnight.

Auckland & Northland
Cloudy spells about Auckland clearing later, however Northland sees cloudy spells for much of the night, cloud breaks there towards dawn tomorrow. Light winds tend southeasterly.

Central North Island, Bay Of Plenty, Waikato
Mainly clear skies overnight although expect some cloud for eastern parts of the Central North Island. Southeasterly breezes, light for many.

Eastern North Island
Cloudy with the odd drizzle patch or shower, cool south to southwesterly winds.
Tonight’s Low: 9-10

Western North Island
Clear skies for northern Taranaki, some cloud further south through to Kapiti. Gusty southeasterly breezes ease overnight for most although remaining fairly brisk about Taranaki.

Wellington
Cloudy areas with strong southerly winds, easing a little overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 10-11

Nelson
Clear skies with northerlies easing this evening, light winds overnight.
Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Marlborough
Areas of cloud overnight with east to southeasterly winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Canterbury
Cloudy periods with east to northeast breezes, any remaining showers about Christchurch clear this evening.
Tonight’s Low: 7

West Coast
Clear skies with light winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Coastal Otago
Cloudy periods with east to northeast breezes.
Tonight’s Low: 7-8

Southland & Central Otago
Mainly clear skies overnight, any remaining cloud clears this evening about Southland. East to southeast winds.
Tonight’s Lows: 5-6
