Updated 5:15pm High pressure covers all over New Zealand today, it’s mainly settled as a result however there will be a little cloud in the west and south, also some increasing cloud for the east of the South Island. Mostly sunny weather elsewhere. The warmest temperatures will be for the east of the North Island, in the low to mid twenties.
Winds are from the southwest in the west, expect east to northeasterly winds for the east coast of the North Island. East to southeasterly winds pick up for coastal Otago into Canterbury and this brings increasing cloud.
Most regions around New Zealand are dry however there is some drizzle or a light shower or two for coastal Otago from this afternoon into Canterbury this evening (south of Banks Peninsula). Overnight Taranaki through to western Waikato may see a light shower or two.
Wednesday is another mainly settled day, summer has arrived.
