Wednesday Newsfeed: High pressure moves closer to NZ

A few remaining showers linger on Wednesday, mostly coastal parts of the North Island. Despite the showers, rainfall this week will be below average in most regions, other than the lower half of West Coast.

A South to South-West airflow continues over the country for Wednesday but in some areas further south it turns milder Westerly as air moves in from the Australian interior. Temperatures will rise across the week as this airflow moves in.

Temperatures are above average over the next four days in many places, even more so by late week because of the Australian airflow moving through.

A wintry change is possible next week – details in our latest video.
