Do you find volcanoes fascinating? GeoNet certainly does. Right now there’s a whole lot of scientists, teachers and students talking about volcanoes on Twitter and voting for their favorites – you can join in and vote for yours too!
But you must hurry – the vote needs to be in today to count!
The New Zealand volcanoes are up against volcanoes from all over the world.
The shortlist of contenders to represent us are the Auckland Volcanic Field, the Taupo Caldera, Ruapehu and Tongariro – which one do you think is the biggest baddest volcano and why?
Remember to tweet using the #VolcanoCup hashtag – and look at the responses so far, there’s a lot of great info!
GNS Science Volcanologist Brad Scott is promoting it across today – visit his Twitter page here: https://twitter.com/eruptn
Vote here: https://twitter.com/janinekrippner
Once a NZ winner is picked it will go up against volcanoes from around the world.
