Tight test in sunny Hamilton

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Sunny and mild conditions are prevailing on day 2 of the second cricket test at Seddon Park in Hamilton this afternoon.

It is a far cry from the latter part of the first test at the Basin Reserve in Wellington where a howling northerly blew for 2-3 days and caused problems for everybody involved.

The forecast for the remainder of the day is quite settled and mild to warm conditions which will hopefully help the home team build a lead before the end of the days play.
New Zealand lost a wicket just before lunch and were 143/4 chasing 231. Ross Taylor has hammered the visitors with some fortune and remains unbeaten on 74.

Australia currently lead the test series 1-0.
