Here’s what is making the weather headlines today….
COLD FRONT BRUSHES FAR SOUTH
As you can see in the image below basically all of New Zealand is dry today thanks to high pressure, there is a cold front brushing the far south though bringing showers there.

SETTLED ON FRIDAY, COLD FRONT THIS WEEKEND
Another settled day on Friday if you hadn’t caught that note already, once again bestowed upon us by high pressure.
Much of Saturday is actually settled too but we do have a cold front moving into the far south around midday then gradually moving northwards, moving over the North Island on Sunday.
There will be some snow in the ranges as this cold front pushes over us this weekend but at the end of the day this will be more of an annoyance rather than anything that will cause major problems. Still something to be weary of when it comes to cold temperatures and new born stock but we should make it through ok.
TEMPERATURES BOUNCE BACK IN THE EAST MID NEXT WEEK
After a cold front we typically have some high pressure and cool temperatures then at some point a northwest airflow develops ahead of the next front. This looks to occur on Wednesday with high’s reaching into the mid to late teens in the east.
Friday at the end of next week is the next vigorous cold front, something to keep an eye on perhaps although that is quite a while away, just a feeler about what may be coming in the distance.
