Thursday’s News: A settled day – Fog tonight – Rain for Canterbury overnight Saturday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Here’s what is making the weather headlines today…..

A SETTLED DAY

No news today really, high pressure brings settled and mostly sunny conditions. There will be some cloud as can be seen in the image below, perhaps a few fog patches this morning and again overnight especially for the North Island.

Northland does have cloud and a few showers today though thanks to a low to the north.

Temperatures will be warmest for inland areas thanks to lighter winds, a sign summer is coming along.

FOG MORNING AND NIGHT

As mentioned above there is a chance of fog this morning and again overnight, mainly for the North Island but a few South Island spots too.

Please visit ruralweather.co.nz and use the search function (type in your location), there is a fog forecaster option.

RAIN FOR CANTERBURY OVERNIGHT SATURDAY

Cloud thickens for the eastern South Island on Saturday, a few showers develop in the afternoon then later in the evening / overnight current guidance suggest some rain for Canterbury.

Rain eases Sunday morning to a few showers, any remaining showers clear in the evening.
