Much of the North Island sees rain or showers today in am easterly quarter airflow, further south high pressure keeps conditions calmer however there is still some drizzle in the east Canterbury northwards. Tasman and the Sounds may see some rain.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas, occasional showers especially from afternoon, clearing Waikato and Bay Of Plenty in the evening. Northland may stay dry till evening then showers moving in there. Easterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Occasional showers, north Taranaki may see an isolated heavy fall in the afternoon. Showers clear in the evening. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 11-16

Eastern North Island

Rain, easing later this afternoon or evening as light easterlies tend southeast.
Highs: 11-15

Wellington

Patchy rain or showers, clearing this evening. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly cloudy, a few showers, clearing this evening. Tasman and the Sounds sees some rain. Southeasterlies.
Highs: 12-16

Canterbury

Mostly cloudy, chance of a shower or drizzle patch otherwise mainly dry. Light winds tend southeast late morning.
Highs: 11-15

West Coast

Mostly sunny, some high cloud for North Westland. Buller may see an afternoon isolated shower or two. Light winds.
Highs: 16-19

Southland & Otago
Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells. Light southerly quarter winds.
Highs: 12-16
