Humidity eases for the North Island on Thursday as a southwesterly airflow lies over the country, showers for eastern regions gradually clear, mostly sunny out west.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Any morning showers clear then mostly sunny with southwesterly breezes, in the evening winds change easterly bringing in some cloud and a few showers especially Coromandel Peninsula northwards.
Highs: 23-29
Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud with a shower or two then becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon, southerly winds.
Highs: 18-23
Eastern North Island
Morning showers mostly clearing but one or two may linger into the afternoon, sunny spells break through. Gusty southwesterlies ease in the evening.
Highs: 20-23
Wellington
A few morning showers clear then sunny spells increase, fresh gusty southerlies.
Highs: 18-20
Marlborough & Nelson
Any early showers clear then mostly sunny, southerly winds. Afternoon northerlies for Nelson.
Highs: 21-23
Canterbury
Early rain eases to showers, mostly clearing around midday but the odd one may linger out on Banks Peninsula into the afternoon. A mix of sun and cloud. Fresh southwesterlies ease at night.

West Coast
A mainly sunny day, light winds tend to the west in the afternoon.
Highs: 21-24
Southland & Otago
A few morning showers clear then expect partly cloudy skies, southwesterly winds, fresh about the coast, ease later in the day.
