A northeasterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, quite humid for the North Island with showers or some rain. Becoming unstable this afternoon about inland parts of the South Island.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly cloudy and humid with occasional showers, some rain at times especially Coromandel and Bay Of Plenty. Easterly winds.
Highs: 21-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with patchy rain or showers, afternoon sunny spells possible. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 20-26

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with showers or some rain, drying out later in the evening. Wairarapa may see afternoon sunny spells. Northeasterly winds.
Highs: 22-26

Wellington

Morning cloud breaks to sunny spells, chance of the odd shower. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 24-27

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning cloud, perhaps a light shower then sunny areas develop, isolated showers possible about inland hills and ranges in the afternoon. Light winds tend onshore after midday.
Highs: 23-26

Canterbury

A mix of sun and cloud, light southerlies tend east to northeast in the afternoon. Isolated showers possible about the high country late afternoon.
Highs: 21-26

West Coast

Partly cloudy skies, chance of a shower. Isolated showers develop about the ranges in the afternoon, one or two may be heavy with a risk of thunder. In the evening rain moves in south of Hokitika. North to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 21-25

Southland & Otago
A mix of sun and cloud, isolated showers possible in the afternoon especially inland where there may be a few thunderstorms. East to northeasterly winds, light winds inland.
Highs: 20-27
