A high pressure system lies over New Zealand today bringing mainly settled weather.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Any morning cloud or fog clears then expect sun and some high cloud, mid level cloud thickens up in the afternoon about Waikato and Bay Of Plenty, risk of a shower about eastern Bay Of Plenty. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 24-26

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning low cloud or fog breaks away then mostly sunny, some cloud increases for inland areas in the afternoon bringing the risk of a shower. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 21-25

Eastern North Island

A mix of sun and cloud, a shower or two also mainly north of about Napier. Southwesterlies tend northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 23-25

Wellington

Any morning cloud clears then mostly sunny, light southerlies tend to the north around midday, winds pick up overnight.
Highs: 21-25

Marlborough & Nelson

Any morning cloud clears then sunny, afternoon northerlies for Nelson, northeasterlies for Marlborough.
Highs: 21-24

Canterbury

Morning cloud clears then mostly sunny, northeasterly winds freshen up in the afternoon across the plains.
Highs: 19-27

West Coast

Morning cloud (fog possible inland) then sunny spells increase in the afternoon, light winds.
Highs: 20-24

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny after any morning low cloud or fog clears, a touch of high cloud gradually moves in. Light north to northwesterly winds for most. Breezy afternoon northeasterlies for coastal Otago.
Highs: 21-27
