A high pressure system moves in today bringing mainly settled weather, a weak trough brushes northeastern parts of the North Island bringing a few showers.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Partly cloudy with light winds from the southerly quarter, a few showers for coastal Bay Of Plenty with winds tending easterly there thanks to a small trough just offshore. Coromandel picks up the odd shower late afternoon, Auckland overnight as the trough moves northwards.
Highs: 18-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny, light winds.
Highs: 13-19

Eastern North Island

Mainly sunny weather with some cloud along the coastal fringe, south to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-18

Wellington

Sunny with southerly winds.
Highs: 15-17

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny, light winds tend north to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 16-17

Canterbury

Sunny, a frost start to the day inland. Light winds.
Highs: 15-17

West Coast

Sunny with any coastal morning cloud clearing away, light winds.
Highs: 16-17

Southland & Otago
Morning cloud for Southland and coastal Otago breaks to mostly sunny weather, Central Otago is sunny all day. Westerly winds.
Highs: 15-17
