A southwesterly airflow still lies over the country today but conditions are calming down with high pressure in the Tasman Sea due to move in tomorrow. We still have the odd shower about, mainly for the North Island about coastal parts in the west and in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
A mix of sun and cloud, the odd shower in the west. Any morning showers for Bay Of Plenty clear then sunny. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 13 – 15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Partly cloudy with the odd shower, westerly winds, tending southwest for Taranaki.
Highs: 6 – 14

Eastern North Island

A mix of sun and cloud, coastal showers clear in the morning, the odd shower may remain for Wairarapa into the afternoon then clearing. Southwesterly winds.
Highs: 11 – 15

Wellington

A mix of sun and cloud, a few showers possible in the east. Southerly winds.
Highs: 10 – 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny, a few clouds from afternoon as light winds tend onshore.
Highs: 12 – 14

Canterbury

A mix of sun and cloud, a few morning showers about Banks Peninsula clear. Light winds inland, coastal southwesterlies die out in the evening.
Highs: 10 – 11

West Coast

A sunny morning, a few clouds from afternoon as winds tend southwest, chance of a shower from afternoon north of Hokitika, clearing evening.
Highs: 9 – 13

Southland & Otago
A showers for Southland and about the Catlins, mainly morning then clearing although one or two may linger a bit longer into the afternoon with partly cloudy skies. Otago has morning cloud then mostly sunny. Westerly winds for most, fresh southwesterlies for coastal Otago die out in the evening.
