A front slowly clears the North Island today moving off to the northeast, for most expect showers to clear in the afternoon with sunny areas slowly increasing. Parts of East Cape and Northland may not see showers clear till dark. In the South Island expect a westerly airflow with showery conditions out west, sunny in the east with mostly dry weather. About coastal Otago through to Mid Canterbury isolated early afternoon showers will get going a few of which could be heavy and thundery then clearing in the evening.

Showers clear this morning in the west and about Wellington with sunny areas developing, expect west to northwest breezes. Showers clear in the afternoon about the Central North Island then sunny areas appearing there. On the east coast, a few showers move through Wairarapa in the morning then becoming sunny in the afternoon. A few showers may pass through Hawkes Bay in the morning also however conditions could remain mostly dry, sunny areas developing there later in the afternoon with light winds.
