Mainly settled for New Zealand today however a cold southerly change pushes northwards up the east coast of the South Island reaching Wellington this evening.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Mostly sunny, a touch of high cloud from afternoon. Light southwesterly winds, afternoon northerlies for Bay Of Plenty.
Highs: 14-16

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning sun then cloud increases from afternoon as light winds tend southeasterly.
Highs: 11-14

Eastern North Island

Any early showers clear Gisborne, mostly sunny otherwise with a touch of high cloud moving in from afternoon. Light winds.
Highs: 11-13

Wellington

Morning sun then cloud from afternoon as light winds tend south to southeast, evening / overnight drizzle.
High: 13

Marlborough & Nelson

Some morning sun then cloud increases from afternoon, evening / overnight showers. South to southeasterly winds pick up overnight.
Highs: 12-14

Canterbury

Morning fog or low cloud may break to some sun then cloud increases from midday as southerlies freshen, late afternoon / evening showers. Overnight expect snow down to 400 or maybe even 300m.
Highs: 10-13


West Coast
Cloudy areas, some sun at times. Risk of a light shower about North Westland otherwise mainly dry. Light southwesterly winds.
Highs: 11-13

Southland & Otago
Occasional showers, easing in the afternoon and clearing by evening. Cold southerly winds. Expect a light dusting of snow on surrounding hills / ranges. Heavy overnight frosts.
Highs: 7-9
