A southwesterly airflow lies over New Zealand today, showery conditions in the west meanwhile conditions are mostly dry out east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas and the odd shower, sun breaks through at times with dry spells. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-20

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with occasional showers, especially afternoon then easing evening. Westerly winds freshen.
Highs: 13-17

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with westerly winds.
Highs: 19-22

Wellington

Mostly sunny, some cloud late afternoon as northerlies tend southerly.
High: 18

Marlborough & Nelson

A mainly sunny day with westerly winds, there may be some morning cloud which clears away.
Highs: 18-21

Canterbury

A mix of sun and cloud, southerlies develop in the morning then tending east to northeast in the afternoon.
Highs: 14-16

West Coast

Showers, becoming few in the afternoon and dry spells increasing. Overnight patchy rain moves back in. West to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 12-15

Southland & Otago
A few morning showers clear Southland then expect sunny spells, Otago has any morning cloud clear then mostly sunny. West to southwesterly winds, breezy about coastal areas.
Highs: 11-15
