A few fronts push over New Zealand today moving in from the west, winds from the north then tending northwest later this evening or overnight.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and increasing cloud, overnight rain or showers. Northerly winds.
Highs: 19-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny then cloud thickens with rain moving into Taranaki during the afternoon, rain and cloud spreads elsewhere in the evening with heavy falls possible then easing overnight. Northerly winds.
Highs: 17-21

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny with some high cloud, cloud thickens with rain moving into the Wairarapa in the evening then Hawkes Bay overnight. Northerly winds.
Highs: 19-22

Wellington
Increasing cloud, the odd spit possible then evening rain. Increasing northerly winds.
High: 17

Marlborough & Nelson
Thick high cloud, the odd spot of rain possible for Marlborough, rain more likely late afternoon /  evening. Nelson sees areas of rain for much of the day, clearing overnight. Breezy north to northwesterly winds.
Highs: 18-19

Canterbury
Sunny areas and some high cloud, a few spots of rain possible around midday then again overnight otherwise mainly dry. Northerly winds.
Highs: 20-22

West Coast
Rain, heavy at times mainly evening with thunderstorms then easing overnight. Breezy north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 17-18

Southland & Otago
High cloud with some sun at times, high cloud decreases later in the day. May be a spot of rain in the morning
otherwise mainly dry. Light north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-19
