South to southwesterly winds ease over the country today, remaining showers clearing in the east with cloud gradually breaking. Sunnier overall out west although some may be in for the risk of a shower.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Cloudy areas and a few sunny spells, chance of a shower or two about parts of Auckland northwards. Light winds.
Highs: 22-23

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy areas and a few sunny spells, more so afternoon onwards. South to
southeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-21

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny weather, cloud a bit more frequent about the Wairarapa with
the chance of a shower till evening otherwise dry. Breezy southwesterly
winds
Highs: 17-19

Wellington

Cloudy areas and a few sunny spells, chance of a shower or two otherwise
dry. Gusty southerlies will keep temperatures low.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny weather with east to northeasterly breezes from midday.
Highs: 18-20

Canterbury

Cloud breaking gradually in the afternoon, showers near the coast clearing this afternoon. Southwesterly winds ease later.
High: 14

West Coast

Sunny with light winds, some cloud may bring an isolated shower to North
Westland in the evening.
Highs: 19-20

Southland & Otago

Mostly sunny with any morning cloud clearing, southerlies ease then
easterly breezes for most by afternoon or evening.
High: 14-18
